Welcome!

We are the Friends of Lynn & Nahant Beach, a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and improvement of the Lynn Shore and Nahant Beach Reservations. The reservations, which are adjacent to one another, are operated by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). Hundreds of thousands of area residents flock to these parks each year to walk, run, swim, paint, play, and bird-watch. If you haven’t visited, we invite you to experience what many on the North Shore describe as a hidden jewel. There is ample parking at both parks. Note that there is a fee to use the Nahant Beach parking lot during the summer.

Since 1991, we have partnered with residents, educators, elected officials, the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, and Save the Harbor/Save the Bay on: 1) capital improvement projects like the construction of a new Nahant Beach bathhouse, the refurbishment and re-opening of the Ward Bathhouse, and the reconstruction of the Nahant Causeway, 2) state funding for the removal of the algae that piles upon the beaches, 3) an annual summertime concert series that attracts thousands of residents to a family friendly night of music and community, and 4) educational activities in the Lynn public schools.
